Independent reading is essential. Not only does reading for pleasure correlate to stronger language skills, reading for pleasure is also fun! After a year and a half out of the classroom, I am excited to see a room full of middle-school readers enter the reading zone. This project will help fill our bookshelves with high-interest, quality texts that will inspire and continue to develop students' lifelong love of reading. Your donation has the possibility to open new worlds for all my students. Each year, students praise our independent reading time as a sacred, calm space where they learn about the world and themselves. Most students will leave at the end of the school year reading more books than they have in any previous year past. Please, help each of my students develop and grow as a reader and individual this year. Thank you!
