Often times we get frustrated, our brains becoming foggy and we need to distress or redirect our focus. Most adolescents lack the tools or ideas on how to redirect their energy and present their frustration negatively which leads to disciplinary actions. I like to provide an area in my Library that allows students hands-on activities like clay sculpting, origami, coloring, and painting to help them work out their frustrations. My Library is a safe quiet environment that allows these types of free alone time to help reboot their brains and learn to redirect their energy in a more positive way.
