The books which I have selected for this project are a wide variety of inclusive and social-emotional regulation literature. These books will be used in an inclusive special education program for upper elementary students. After such a hectic year I believe that our students deserve to find books that they can relate to, learn from, and find comfort in. One of the most important things that a student can take away from school is a love for reading. The likelihood of this happening is greatly increased when students can see themselves in the text they are reading. Our classroom community is built on equity, love, and inclusion. This is why I would be so grateful to incorporate these books into our daily routines. My hope is to build a trusting community by facilitating classroom discussions through these books daily. I know my students will be greatly impacted by your generous donation! As a new teacher, my classroom library is in great need of these beautiful books. I cannot wait to see the excitement, peace, joy, and reflection that these books will bring to my students. THANK YOU!
