My class consists of students with disabilities who are faced with the challenge of transitioning to full in-person instruction after learning virtually for over a year! Many of my students struggled with the fear and anxiety of returning to school during such uncertain times. They are from low-income areas and our classroom is in desperate need of some essential supplies that will make our learning space more inviting and calming. I am hoping to obtain materials that will enable our students to have flexible seating options that will provide comfort in our classroom. Flexible seating will help keep my students be more alert and attentive. My students will use all the goods provided to focus on their assignments, practice self-soothing techniques, and develop their ability to remain engaged while working in the classroom. By integrating all these goods into their education, it is without a doubt that they will be excited, motivated, and connected to the content they see, and not only that, but the world will be in their reach. The sensory toys will help the students have a hands-on opportunity to self-soothe when needed. The organization display charts will give students a visual of what they are learning. The rug and pillows will give my students a calm space to engage in daily lessons and can be cleaned daily. Please consider helping my students succeed!
