My project is to create a safe, welcoming, and calming space in my classroom. My students need a place where they can have a few minutes to take a break and refocus. Having these materials in our classroom will help stabilize our emotions and give students a chance to take control of themselves. Our "vacation corner" will be available to every student in our classroom, no matter their emotional needs. It will not be used as a punishment. This space will be used as a stress relief corner, a place to diffuse a situation before it becomes a major problem. Having the resources to teach my students how to recognize and take care of their emotions will better their lives for years to come. By donating to our project, you will help increase students attention and focus, which will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
