I am requesting crayons, construction paper, math activities, spelling boards, book bins and more. My Pre-K and Kindergarten students visit the library for 30 minutes. During this time, I read a story with them and then they get to browse for a book to check out. During check out, only four students at a time are looking at books. The rest of the students are waiting for their turn. During this time, I would like students to engage in meaningful activities. This will be accomplished by providing students with six different centers, which will rotate each week. These centers include art, math activities, and literacy activities that promote play based learning. This manner of learning is incredibly effective for this age group.
