The integration of technology during the pandemic has had a positive impact on student engagement and has enhanced student learning. The technology used during virtual learning helped my students to critically think about our world in engaging ways. I work at a Title I School, where there are barely any laptops and Chromebooks for classroom use. I would like to continue to use some of the online materials that we used during virtual learning in the classroom. With Chromebooks, my students can learn by viewing educational videos on platforms such as EdPuzzle, can write historical papers, research topics of study, and create projects and presentations. We live in a technologically advanced world where students must master the utilization of a computer in any field of study. My students need access to historical knowledge, which will help them to engage in Social Studies classes in high school, prepare for college, and contribute to the world around us!
