Last year, we used Scholastic Magazines for Science and Social Studies. This year our school decided not to use the funding to purchase Scholastic Magazines. Our grade level would like to keep the magazines to help teach close reading routines. The magazines are fun and engaging for students. They love to watch the digital videos and play the game that comes with each magazine. We use them digitally by posting the magazine link into our classroom page. We also use them in the classroom by close reading the magazine and discussing the main idea and details.
