My students want to play the drums! They see them in the storage area and ask if they can play them today in class. Many students have not had the opportunity to play instruments either while at home in virtual learning or with the Covid restrictions in the school building. Now, the students can start to play them and learn the drumming techniques, but there is still a set-back. We don't have enough tubano-style drums so there is one per student. Your generous support of this project will allow each student to have a drum to use during class! Creativity is an important part of musical expression. When each student has his/her own instrument to use, there is more time to improvise a musical thought or practice a specific rhythm. Sharing is a great attribute to learn, but having the whole time to explore a musical thought is too!
