The carport shades will allow my students to extend the time we spend in our garden to develop solutions to the problem of food insecurity. To do this they will develop solutions to the following problems; growing food in a desert, growing food with limited resources, and growing food without the use of fertilizers or pesticides. The ability to have an outdoor lab has multiple benefits to students. Students learn where their food comes from. They enjoy being out of the classroom. By gardening they get a sense of accomplishment. Thank you
