These materials will be used to target English Langauge Learner's levels of English proficiency. The goal is to incorporate strategies that focused on guided oral language. The guided oral language supports collaboration, providing meaningful interaction with academic language, fostering primary language support, guiding opprunties to interact with grade-level text, and builds self-esteem. Specifically, I will be using the materials to implement OCD-GLAD strategies that guided students and provide opportunities to take risks, use academic language, and connect prior knowledge of phonological awareness in academic discourse. For example, the different types of easels will provide scaffolds that lower the affective flitter for students. This then creates a safe space for students to entire into using target language goals and practice. This will provide students to practice academic oral language and active listening in the classroom setting. The overall goal is to increase the participation in academic discussions in one-on-one, small groups, and whole-class settings via structured and intentional plans to provide more opportunities for academic oral language development in classroom settings.
