Although most people think reading is only important in an ELA classroom, strong readers should read in all of their classes. As a Civics teacher, there are so many great books that will encourage my students to fight for change. I have included as many as I could find in my order. There are also books that turn really important historical concepts into stories that my students will love. These topics include immigration, racism, civil rights, women's rights, American history, and so much more. I strongly believe my students will find stories that some of them can relate to, some that will spark change in their hearts, and some that will simply interest them in different parts of history. Please consider donating to my Civics classroom. My students deserve to read books that are on topic, but also books that will change their lives.
