I hope to use these alphabet tubs to help my kindergarten and 1st grade students develop the phonemic awareness and phonics skills they need to be successful readers. These tubs will be used in small group settings for struggling readers who need an extra, hands on approach to learning. We will use them to identify beginning sounds, to match sound to letter, and to match speech to print. Sometimes students need a familiar object to make a connection to the letters or words they are reading. These tubs do just that!

About my class
