The Sunshine Room is a classroom that provides extra help for students that have trauma related issues, sensory and behavioral issues and low self-esteem. These students may struggle with receiving direct instruction in their classroom setting, so they are able to go to the Sunshine Room for redirection, calming, some quiet time and sensory integration. The materials that I am requesting will help to provide an environment that is less stressful and safe. I am requesting bean bag chairs, a rug, curtains and other items for the Sunshine Room. Making the Sunshine Room a space for students to learn while feeling safe and being provided individualized attention is the goal and your donation will help to achieve that.
