My students understand that in our classroom family we work together, we support each other, and learn from each other. They are capable leaders with the ability to articulate their own thinking and teach their peers. Students need a place for them to find their voice and believe in themselves not only as learners, but as teachers. The classroom easel and the sitting stools will give students an opportunity to take lead of small group. It will give students a place to show their thinking during whole class instruction. It will be a central place for us to gather together when we create our anchor charts that will anchor and grow our learning.
