Not every part of the school week needs to be focused upon the improvement of standardized test scores, and common curriculum. There are portions of time when students should be asked to solve a puzzle in a creative manner as a team. In order to solve these puzzles, the students will need supplies that are not normally found in the every day classroom. I am requesting supplies which include items such as popsicle sticks, feathers, beads, different types of tape and other assorted supplies. The students would be asked to work in teams to solve specific puzzles using these supplies. These puzzles can not be scored on a standardized test, nor can they be used to show academic achievement. However, the students will practice and gain insight into problem solving, teamwork, and using materials in different ways.
