I am requesting fidget toys which will not only be incentives for the students to work towards, but will also to help them keep their hands busy so that their brains can focus on the work. The class that I have has a lot of extra energy and have a hard time sitting still especially during long instruction times. They will be earning points for behavior and then with those points be able to "buy" the fidget toys. A reward must be something that motivates them. When using a reward system you have to find things that the students want to work for. After seeing my students for two weeks I can tell based on getting to know them and what I have witnessed I know these will help. The timers are to be used for those students who may need some help calming down or knowing exactly when it is time to get back to work. I know these things will greatly help my students.
