In the switch from virtual to in-person learning, my students need a classroom environment that is prepared to support both their educational and social emotional needs. One of my favorite ways to build strong community & love of learning among students is through independent reading. At the moment, I only have about 5 history-specific books for students to choose from. I want to create a library of engaging historical texts for students. With new books and a clear organization system, my students can feel empowered to choose their own historical path while also remaining true to their reading level. Receiving these book bins and a few new books is the kickstart my classroom needs to create a beautiful system for kids to come. Additionally, the laminator will allow me to create targeted labels for the bins AND the books to ensure that they are able to be in use for more classes each year.
