Headphones with microphones will allow my students to communicate their ideas more effectively. Most of my students struggle with spelling and physically writing a complete sentence. We will use speech to text to get their ideas written down then go back and edit for clarity. While their laptops have built-in microphones, a lot of background noise is recorded when they record their thoughts and ideas. This results in extraneous words popping up in their text. The use of headphones with microphones will allow my students to use technology to their advantage and to become more independent.
