In the self-contained classroom, the students need many opportunities for movement breaks, but mostly their day is working at their desk or at a table for small group. This is a hard skill for students with attention difficulties. The wobbly stools are a great way to promote active sitting at their desk. They are working on their core muscles and the movement keeps their body engaged rather than trying to find the movement they are looking for. Each student learns in their own unique way and they need the support to have the tools to make them successful. Having wobble stools will help give me more tools to help my students, beyond what the school and my personal spending can provide. I can reach the students' individual needs and the change is immediate.
