I am requesting low technology manipulatives to explore at our library. Students will use manipulatives such as building blocks to give engineering expressions a chance. Poetry tile magnets will allow students to compose engaging stories and poetry. Individual dry erase boards will be used to make creative drawings, and take notes during library lessons. Makerspaces are amazing new additions to library spaces. Libraries are now giving students the opportunity to learn outside the box. Low technology manipulatives engage learners through collaboration, socialization, and ingenuity. I look forward housing these manipulatives to give students the opportunity to build, create and explore to learn in fun and engaging ways at the library, after they check-out their books of choice, of course.
