At the new school I will start this fall, furniture seems to be limited. At my other school, I had a kidney table and I was able to work with students, one-to-one/small groups, and students were more confident to participate. When students are given the opportunity to give their opinion based on their own lived experiences, students will be less hesitant to participate. Speaking in front of large groups is at times daunting, and I would love to support all my students' thoughts, expressions, and voices. A small group area with a table will most definitely allow students to advocate their opinions.
