The flexible seating options will help those students who JUST can't sit still. They will have options! Some students just can't sit still. They need some way to release the extra energy stored in their little bodies. These seating options will give them opportunities to move in their spaces safely and comfortably. They will have more focus on the lesson and less focus on the uncomfortable feeling of sitting in a hard chair. I think the students will do better academically and behaviorally if they feel comfortable within the classroom. I have a classroom full of students with special needs and preferential seating. We are also requesting sand timers for good time management skills.
