Flexible seating is the key to success for students! The idea of my third grade classroom is to create a comfortable and inviting environment that helps students become their best learning selves. Flexible seating allows students to take control of their own learning by choosing where to work in a variety of locations within our classroom. The students can: use stools, stable exercise balls, lap desks, etc. I would like to give my students a chance to choose where they would like to work. This is possible by providing them with flexible seating and supplies to use when completing independent or small group. Flexible seating leads to increased student engagement which is connected to higher motivation and academic performance, and even improved overall behavior! These materials will allow my students to learn in a comfortable setting as they return to in-person learning.
