We are back in person and back in class, but there are times when our students need a break. A lot of students, especially students with emotional disturbances and other health impairments, are dealing with anxiety from the pandemic and a class pet, guinea pig, can help with that. Anxiety and depression cases have increased drastically since the pandemic began last year. Our students will benefit from a guinea pig as a class pet to have an opportunity to hold and love on while sharing their feelings and taking a break from the world of hardships they are forced into each day. These materials will also be used to teach our students how to take responsibility and care for others. Students will take turns feeding, caring, and cleaning for the class pet.
