This project will support the Creative Curriculum in our preschool classroom. The drawing paper, paints, paint brushes, watercolors, and finger-paints will be used in our Art center; helping students learn and practice skills that will be essential when it is time to start using a pencil to practice writing letters and numbers. With the paintbrush, they are practicing grasping and holding the same way they would while writing. The art smocks will be used to protect their clothing while working with paints and messy materials. The ABC Handwriting Practice Books will help them as they practice forming their letters correctly, as well as letter identification. The use of the various building blocks will help them build hand and finger strength. Playing with blocks will help them build friendships with other students. Building with blocks helps with problem solving, it helps the children develop intellectual skills in various areas, and the fun part of it all is it encourages their artistic creativity!
