These books will give our amazing students a mirror into their own lives, or a window to see into others - through this incredible narrative poem, these tenth graders will follow on a journey of a high school girl towards her own unique expression. Although our students will be taking the MCAS this year, this rich high interest text will get them excited about reading, analyzing writing, and talking about how it connects to their lives. Using this as a model, students will also create their own unique stories that follow the theme, style, or tone of this story, allowing them to express themselves in creative and constructive ways.
