My students are Severe Special Needs. They need Life Skills to be semi-independent later in life. They learn best and retain what is learned by hands on with manipulatives. This project is about math manipulatives with an emphasize on fractions. "Cook to Learn," is a program that is used at the school. Each student makes the recipe using measuring cups and spoons, or "fractions." They set the table properly, eat what is cooked and socializing around the table. They clean up afterwards, all Life Skills for the student. The fractions will help with time, and money.
