Most of my students live at or below the poverty line. Our school provides free breakfast and lunch but many of them continue to be hungry. Maslow's Law states basic needs must be met in order to proceed to the next level. Providing snacks can help them come into my room and know that their basic need for food is being met. And it gives me a chance to show them that there are people in the community who care about them and support their learning on a daily basis.
