I am starting an engineering club in our middle school. We believe that teaching students at this level the engineering process of designing a solution for a problem, testing it, and redesigning improvements will help students develop the love for engineering that I have. STEM tends to focus on programming and coding and engineering is more than that. Building devices teach students understand the engineering process. There is a lot of satisfaction in seeing students design a lego robot, build it, test it, improve it and compete with it. By having 3 kits, I will divide the group in 3 teams to encourage their creativity.
