At our school, connecting with students individually and in a class setting are crucial. We connect through stories, activities, and play. I give all my students the opportunity to feel heard and comfortable in school, especially if they don't have that at home. These students learn by building connections, feeling safe, and learning from one another. All students want to feel loved, accepted, and supported. Through these supplies, students will not only feel they are being represented but also they are not alone in what they are experiencing. Every student is different and at our school we make it a point to let them know they are not just a test but an actual person with feelings, desires, and goals of their own.
