My goal this year in my class is for my students to be creative and begin to think ‘outside of the box’. I want them to come into my class every day ready for a fabulous experience. In art, you are to become independent thinkers as you experiment with learning new techniques while creating beautiful, meaningful art projects. As artist we will explore many art mediums, learn about master artists and art from other cultures. My dream this year is to complete a mosaic glass mural that will highlight and showcase the uniqueness of our school. We are part of a very large urban school district, I beleive that were are unique in that we celebrate each other's differences and cultures. It is extremely important that we work together as a team, to facilitate the teaching and learning process. My hope is to work with the different classes and grade levels to design this mural and have each student in the school be a part in creating it. Teamwork makes the dream work!! Making art is easy and natural….making great art requires time, extraordinary effort, and commitment. Only they have the capacity within themselves to follow a path for becoming a great artist! It is my job to teach, inspire, motivate, critique, and introduce concepts and ideas that create the opening towards that path.
