Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning by allowing them to select an area in the classroom to evaluate their thinking with their peers. After independent work time, students will use the Surf Portable lap desks to create flexible, small groups to evaluate their work. The lap desks will allow students to show their calculations, analyze their strategies, as well as the strategies of others, and make sense of mathematics and the world around them. Students will take ownership of their learning by sharing strategies, making observations, posing questions, revising their work and evaluating the thinking of their peers.

About my class
