Flexible seating allows students to take ownership of their learning while helping them focus on the task. In my classroom, allowing student choice is huge because it gives them a sense of control. I have seen a difference in learning and achievement when students have choices. Being expected to sit still in a chair may hinder students' learning more than just allowing them to wiggle. Flexible seating items give students options that meet their needs and allows for appropriate movement while learning. The products that I have selected will give my students options to wiggle or move while learning. The wiggle stools are great for the learners that tend to lean back in the chairs. The ball chairs give students a chance to wiggle or lightly bounce. Textured sensory mats give students the sensory input they need to help with self-regulation and focus. I have seen the difference in students' motivation to learn and participation when they have choices. Hopefully, these products allow all needs to be met and students to take ownership in their learning.
