My music classroom is downstairs. The flooring in my classroom is cold and hard. I would like to acquire two music-themed carpets for the children to sit on while they are learning to read their music notes on their music sheets in preparation to play simple melodies on Orff instruments that will be placed on the carpets. Several of our activities include watching and listening to orchestras and so the students can learn the instruments by sight and sound. We also color and decorate several of our activity sheets. The students will learn the names and values of music notes, in addition to being able to count simple rhythms. The students will also be able to name the notes on the lines and in the spaces of the treble clef staff and be able to play simple melodies on Orff instruments. We will decorate our music sheets with color crayons, markers, and pencils to complete our musical project.
