The use of these materials will be vital in my classroom. In a Title 1 school such as mine, the budget is not too high for Art classes, and because of that, students often times don't get their own supplies. The sketchbooks will be given to each student so that every person will have one to take home at the end of the year once we are done. For this project, they will be used for brainstorming, sketching, and testing out colors they mix. The paints and brushes will be used to bring their sketches and ideas to life in a media other than colored pencils. By deciding to donate to this project, you will be encouraging the creativity and growth of students in a low income area. Over 50% of these students are not native english speakers or were raised in a bilingual home. Nothing about their lives has been easy, and showing them love and encouragement in any aspect of their lives helps so much. My students will use these materials and hopefully enter into a place of escape from their day to day lives.
