Having students with emotional and behavioral challenges and giving them an option of seating allows for a feeling of choice and calm. My students work well feeling like they have choices in areas to sit and work. Not only do we work in small groups but they love to find a quiet spot to work independently. It's amazing to see these children as they work through their emotional challenges and gain a sense of success and calm within themselves. Providing these areas is vital to their continued successes both emotionally and academically.

About my class
