The use of headphones in the classroom is strictly to help my students focus on their own independent activity during center time. I want my students to feel that they have their own supplies to learn with at school where as at home they might not have their own space or their own belongings. I want my students to feel empowered about coming to school so they can take charge of their learning and not worry about not having supplies. The use of Social and Emotional books in the classroom will help my students learn new social skills and how to overcome little problems or big problems through the use of picture books. My students love being read to and I want the books on this list to be just oyful for them to hear but also give them the courage to want to read these books on their own to become better readers.
