Writing is crucial communication skill to build. The more we write the better we are at it. The more ways we write, the more creative our craft becomes. Having a journal on hand is an effective way to develop writing skills and find a writer's voice unique to each of us. The notebooks that will be purchased through this fundraiser will serve as a creative outlet for students; a place to fill pages with thoughts on what we are learning in class, seeing in our world, and mulling over in our minds. These notebooks make all the difference in a writing education. I teach how to structure essays and writing from the organization of multiple paragraphs down to individual sentences. Students need a place where they can work on these skills consistently and informally. When students are writing freely and applying skills they have learned, each students will develop their own powerful voice as a writer.
