Many of my students have asked to read my personal copy of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and I do allow my students to borrow it. However given the length of the story, and the different rates that each student reads, it is a logistical nightmare to have 37 students share one book. My classroom is composed of many ability levels including many students who state that they do not enjoy reading. It would be an eye opening experience for these students to be immersed in literature that they want to read.
