These materials will bring more representation in the form of literature for my young readers to see themselves, their class-neighbors, and their communities. My second graders have not been in a physical classroom full time since March of their kindergarten year. I want my readers to be able to hold actual books in their hands and read in our classroom library. Many of my scholars have asked if they could take books home to read, by providing multiples of the same book I am able to allow that. The face masks will allow me to quickly provide a new mask to a scholar than disrupt their learning and miss out on activities we are doing by sending them to the office for a new mask.
