I teach English 3 to high school juniors at a Nashville, TN public charter. 90% of my students are first or second generation immigrants. Most of my students are learning English as a second language. Unfortunately, our school does not have a student library. It is my mission to provide books to my students through a classroom library. Not only will this library improve student resources- the outcomes would improve language acquisition, ACT scores, reading comprehension, and most importantly, a love for literature. In my classroom, students are provided 20 min of sacred time each Friday to read a book of their choice. Students are also encouraged to take the books home with them. Please support our classroom by purchasing the books on my students' wishlist!
