After being fully remote or hybrid last year, it’s been a while since students have had physical school materials or even inside of a classroom. As a first year teacher with a very limited library it’s vital to me to build a learning community where students have choice in the books they read and are able to find more books that pique their interest. Students will be able to bring books they enjoy reading home with them and will also be used to teach in various ways including guided reading, mini-lessons, and free reading. The varying amount of both genres and format of texts makes the books very applicable to many ways of teaching, and seeks to inspire readers who haven’t quite found books that they love just yet in their school life.
