These classroom sets are integral in preparing students for the AP English exams. They also give students the college English experience in the high school setting. Not only will this help a great number of students this year, the books will stay in my classroom for future classes to use and enjoy as part of the AP and general English curriculum. AP English Language and Composition focuses on non-fiction titles such as The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks-a riveting non-fiction piece which discusses matters of ethics, racism, equality, social justice, and empathy. AP English Literature and Composition emphasizes in-depth literary analysis of works such as Frankenstein, Macbeth, Pride and Prejudice, The Kite Runner, My Antonia, and The Rules of Civility-a sampling of texts from classic British Literature to contemporary American Literature.
