Reading books is a wonderful way for children to expand their vocabulary and learn about new things. Reading ignites creativity, sparks curiosity, and stimulates their imagination. As our scholars grow as readers, they will correct their grammar, be better at spelling and increase their concentration. Most of our scholars live in low-income neighborhoods and do not have access to books that are in good condition. Building our classroom library will allow kindergarten scholars to borrow books and talk about them with their peers. We are attempting to make reading something our scholars choose to enjoy on a daily basis.
