I would like to provide more seating options for my students as well as build our supply of classroom necessities. On a daily basis, my classroom tends to be what I like to consider "organized chaos." My lessons are often structured in a way that allows students to work independently or in pairs/ small groupings. Students enjoy moving about the classroom, and they can do so easily when there are flexible seating options. My students are noticeably more engaged and less disruptive when they are able to choose alternative seating. Flexible seating and sensory "fidget" toys allow students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. I notice that when students are comfortable, they are more motivated. My hope is that project allows me to increase the variety of workspaces my students can choose from. Additionally, a classroom set of small whiteboards and things like utility carts allow us to move about freely and even take our learning on the go!
