Students should always enjoy a fun-filled, engaging, hands-on lesson. I am requesting classroom manipulatives which will assist my students to learn by allowing them to move from concrete experiences to abstract reasoning. The resources will be used to assist students in the areas of reading, writing, and math. Headphones will make for a quiet learning environment during Math and Reading interventions also quizzes, assignments, etc. where students can work independently and noise free at various times throughout the day. Lesson plans are created weekly for effective teaching. Therefore these resources will enable my students to practice sentence building, create new words, write simple stories, and practice math fluency. The end goal is for my students to become fluent in in both reading and writing according to their development needs. The Station Rotation model that is incorporated in my classroom will allow students to rotate through stations on a fixed schedule, where at least one of the stations is an online learning station. This model is most common in elementary schools because teachers are already familiar rotating in “centers” or stations. The materials requested are essential for learning and will help to engage my students in perceptual and motor and physical (“hands-on”) processing of information and opportunities for self-directed exploration or discovery of concepts. To keep my students safe in group rotations, sanitizer will be provided in each station. A Station Rotation breaks up the class into smaller groups, which will allow me to work with students in a small-group setting on a daily basis.
