Students have to share copies of novels that we study in the classroom. However, marking the text is a practice we use often as a strategy to help with comprehension. When we move to a novel study, students are unable to use the marking the text strategy because they can not mark up the book. The clear sticky notes would allow students to mark areas and then remove them later. Highlighting mistakes or revisions while marking the text is also possible with erasable highlighters. Students usually cannot fix or change their highlighted marks because their marks are permanent and they often get messy and illegible- not helping them at all. With erasable highlighters, this could be fixed!
