This project is directly tied to helping students learn, reflect, and grow mentally, emotionally, and socially. Through my Social Studies and Sports Psychology classes students will have the opportunity to read through selected books and passages to learn how they can incorporate good leadership skills, teamwork skills, and resiliency into their own lives. They will also share their findings with each other to be able to capitalize on the most learning possible. Determination, perseverance, and grit are the qualities students need to help them be successful in any academic area and these are the skills I hope to teach and foster in my classroom through the selected books and materials. We will watch videos to enhance the reading and write our reflections to share with each other and keep as a record for each of us to look back on. These types of learning experiences are invaluable and will hopefully, help students for years to come.
