Research states that students learn better when they are comfortable. The majority of the students are not comfortable at a traditional desk and chair. Students will use flexible learning to complete classwork in a more comfortable and relaxing environment. School is becoming a high stress activity for many students with the ongoing push to continuously standardize test them. To create STEM positive environment it is important for learners to feel comfortable and compete in the digital world we live in. Bean bag chairs are a perfect fit for a flexible seating classroom as do having headphones for individualized learning experiences. Students are more focused when sitting on a sofa or lounging on a bean bag. My students will maximize reading when they are in a more relaxing environment. Students can focus on learning however they are most comfortable.
